Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Does the box read number plates or film drivers?

No. No plate is read, no face is recognised: the AI analysis works on a 192×192-pixel thumbnail and only anonymous statistics (counts, speeds, vehicle classes) ever leave the box. That is the “GDPR by design” principle.

What exactly does the box measure?

Counting per lane and per direction, the radar speed of every vehicle, its class (car, truck, bus, motorbike, bicycle, pedestrian), traffic saturation (jams), noise level and, as an option, air quality (PM1 / PM2.5 / PM10).

What is the measuring range?

The AI camera covers a 42.5° cone reaching 70 m, as shown in the model above; the radar measures the speed of each vehicle in that zone, lane by lane and in both directions.

How is the box installed?

On a simple pole, 2.5 m high, with no civil works: a pole clamp and pointing it at the road are enough. Lanes, their direction and their saturation are then identified automatically.

How is it powered?

Three options: a 100 W solar kit with lithium battery (9 days of autonomy without sun), a permanent 220 V mains connection, or a sodium-battery kit recharged from the public-lighting supply (3 days of autonomy).

Is an internet connection needed on site?

No: 4G connectivity is built into the box and the subscription is included. Data is streamed continuously to the web portal.

How do I access the data?

From the client web portal, in real time and with full history. The box can also send SMS alerts and remotely drive signs or lights through its 3 dry-contact relays.

What is the warranty?

Standard-exchange warranty, vandalism included, for the whole duration of the subscription (1 to 10-year packs).
