Heavy truck detection

The unit measures every approaching vehicle and compares it with a car seen at the same spot. From this it derives an overall size index: G.

G = 1 for a car

A van or a small truck stays below 3; a large heavy truck or a bus exceeds 3.

Rule G > 3

The relay of the VIAprevent unit installed in the traffic-light cabinet, 300 metres away, is activated over 4G and/or LoRa. The rule applies only to the chosen lane: VIAprevent detects and tells the lanes apart.

The action

For each large heavy truck, the unit closes a relay for 5 s, on itself or on another unit by radio: for example to light a sign at the other end of the road and avoid trucks crossing. The video clip of the alert is sent by email.

Day and night

Without infrared lighting.

Real examples
